Cherry Bimm and Sarah Phimm, I assume. Like “cherubim” and “seraphim” = angels. I guess they work at “thirty four-tee”. “30” is the traditional way to indicate the end of your story when you type it up for the newspaper.

Why does Cherry(great name!) have a mustache?

Why is boss man wearing a disco suit?

Why is the coffee pot not refilled?

I’m scheduled for hip replacement surgery on July 15th. (Decades of abusing my body playing sports on the streets of NYC). I couldn’t outrun any of Gweedo’s Goats if my life depended on it.

Anyone go through it, and do you care to share your experience?

Hey guys, I just received my copy of the 1st new Dick Tracy comic from Mad Cave Studio’s and it is awesome. Great drawing with less emphasis on the caricature villain than Gould did. The comic was 10 pages including front and back covers, and another 4 pages with advert for another comic and a page with the cover for #2. It feels to me like comics used to feel when I was a kid. You can get the first issues for under 25 bucks (when they are all published) and free online kindle type issues as they come out. If this is anything like what you guys remember about DT it is amazing. Don’t want to give away too much, but it starts in 1947, with Dick a hot shot young detective just back from the war. We meet Tess right away. The initial scene is pretty gory, but it reminds me of the vibes my favorite NCIS had the first 10 years.Anybody else get it yet, or have some corrections for me?

OK, I decided to read the online version of Dick Tracy starting in 1931. (The complete Chester Gould’s Dick Tracy at Read Comics Online) I thought Dick Tracy’s son was Tess and Dick’s kid, but according to this he was an abused kid used by a thug to steal for him until Dick saved him; and no sign of Tess so far?No wonder I’ve been so confused with all these iterations of the strip!

Yet we cant get a name for the androgynous detective….so I’m referring to her from now on as “DETECTIVE BUTCH”

How often do we get a sentence started at the end of one strip, and finished at the start of the next day’s?

1-MR. TISK: MISS PHLEGM? MISS TRIM? TURN UP THE HEAT! DIDN’T YOU SEE I HAD MY TROPICAL SUIT ON TODAY??? I WANT IT TO FEEL LIKE NEW DEHLI IN HERE WHEN I WEAR THIS!!!

2-CHERRY TRIM: Great! We’ll be sweating ballz just so he can pretend he’s back in “INJAH” hunting elephants with Ghandi and drinking water with Gunga Din. SARAH PHLEGM: You should a known when he told us yesterday to make tea in the Mr. Coffee.

3-CHERRY TRIM: Why is this company called 30 dash 4? SARAH PHLEGM: It’s a reference to his “size” in millimeters and inches. CHERRY TRIM: So he rounded up on the millimeters? SARAH PHLEGM: And on the inches! BOTH: TEE HEE!

Sarah looks a bit like our new, yet unnamed MCU character – maybe this is the reason we haven’t learned her name yet?

Phim and Bimm sounds like a comedy team!
