Remakes donât bother me much.. although with some stories it works better than others. One movie remake I havenât watched is Titanic. Itâs hard to make âbig ship sails⊠hits iceberg⊠sinksâŠâ into much more than exactly that.
And, how many versions of The Virginian were made? a stage play 1 year after the book came out, 6 movies (2 were silent films,) and a long running TV series. Choose your favorite. Mine is the 2000 Bill Pullman version.
Iâm laughing because the kid had never heard of the original until âjust now,â but knew it (which he had never heard of) came out five years before he was bornâŠ
Some of the time the remake turns out better because they capabilities they didnât have before. But Iâm not a big fan of the new Shogun series. Itâs grittier, but I canât get behind the lead character.

Wanna know how many âMagnificent Sevenâ movies there are?
The Magnificent Seven (1960)
Return of the Seven (1966)
Guns of the Magnificent Seven (1969)
The Magnificent Seven Ride! (1972)
The Magnificent Seven (2016)
Which is a remake of another famous movie of the 1950s era, Seven Samurai, directed by Akira Kurosawa.
There is even Samurai 7, a 2004 anime television series.

Itâs the same with music these days. A newer group remakes an old song and the kids donât believe it was already done, sometimes 50 years ago!

nothing new in movies, no original ideas anymore, just remakes or sequels.

What about the Incredible Hulk films. Two of them came out really close to one another

Remakes donât bother me. Because I see movies so rarely, I probably didnât see any of the earlier versions.

George Lucas would still be tweaking his six movies if he hadnât sold everything to Disney. Except the merchandise rights.

It seems âThe Hound of the Baskervillesâ might be the winner for number of remakes. Over 30?
