I made Cranberry Crips today. While a batch was in the oven I put eggs on to boil for egg salad. Then the batch came out, moved it to the cooling rack, put in the next pan, then forgot about the eggs. Luckily enough I forgot to turn the burner on to, but I did forget to set the timer so had to stand there and watch to see them melt and cook.
So I took it out, put it on the cooling rack. Then the phone rang and then when I got off the phone, the egg pot was nearly drained of water, the cookies were stuck to the pan.
Sigh, and then I realized I had forgotten my ADHD meds.
I resemble that! I can’t recall the last time a “simple” task didn’t lead to a cascading regression of other tasks that needed to be done previous to it and each other.
Sometimes in reading this I am left with a feeling that I am so well organized, but that quickly evaporates when I consider other aspects of my life. There it is, skulking in the dark corner those terrible incomplete tasks. I have great rationalizations for having ignored them and procrastinated about them but now they left their hiding places and come screaming out at me.
One more thought. How does this cueing system for word spelling and prediction know what words I want to use in these texts. I thought I was so much more creative and innovative. I fear how AI will manage and manipulate my words in the future. Actually it seems that it mostly wrote this comment. Anyone else find this in your posts? It scares me a bit.

Cartooning as Expressionism! At least, in the word and thought balloons . .

Forget scrubbing cookie sheets – line ‘em with oven-safe parchment. Afterward, a brief soapy wash is all they need. (Just don’t broil with them.)

Can I blame you for this? Please?

When I am at that point, I tell myself ‘just do it!’ I might not get anything baked, but I am ready for next time.

“If you give a mouse a cookie”… Oh, wait, I need to make the cookies first.

Relatable, thanks. Everyone was getting organized during 2020- me, not so much.
