you tell me you’ve never watched Tom & Jerry?

I so remember Marlin Perkins and his travels and talks on wildlife, Chicago Zoo if I remember right…

Logical AND there.

That pretty much leaves just the test pattern.

I was not allowed to watch violence as a child, either! Particularly because I would cry and get upset! I think Rover’s parents are correct to protect Red from such things ;)

We used to watch Wild Kingdom every week. We had only one TV, in the living room, so we watched it as a family. It helped make me appreciate animals.

I didn’t remember Wild Kingdom being such hot stuff! Marlin, we hardly knew ye…

Poor Jim had to do all the work while Marlin set somewhere safe.

Sunday nights, right??

The act of one animal taking down another animal for dinner may be violent but after all, but it’s nature—but even as adults we may not want to watch graphic videos of it.

Nature shows don’t count.

I always liked that show. Marlin and Jim are in a canoe on a wild river, surrounded by ravenous crocodiles. Marlin, safely in the boat, tells the camera “We’re now surrounded by the rare sub-Saharan giant crocodile. It’s the middle of their rutting season and these beasts are especially short tempered and will attack anything that moves. Now, watch as Jim dives in and attempts to measure the teeth on one of these fierce, deadly predators!” Jim replies “They don’t pay me enough for that!”

“Nature red in tooth and claw.”

LOL… Rover’s look on his face is like “Huh?”

TV shows have nothing over growing up on a farm – saw it all, the good and the bad.

No sex on T&J

Wild Kingdom hasn’t been on TV for years! Just how old IS red?

At your age, go for the violence kid, the sex will come later.

Wild Kingdom was a good show educational but didn’t talk down to you . I loved the movie Born Free with Elsa the lion

Anyone remember Marlin Perkins hosting Zoo Parade on TV? Set in the early 50s at Chicago’s zoo. We always watched it, I was a little girl :>

I loved watching Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins.

While Jim checks the lion’s temperature, I’ll be in the tent making a pitcher of martinis.

So… either / or is OK?

I loved that show. Definitely safe for kids.
