Nothing like your mom roasting a fresh turkey every week from Thanksgiving to the end of February because the price was right. Wouldn’t eat turkey again for years.

He has to “strip” you down before he can dress you up.

Yes, that happened in my house as well. This was in the ‘50s, and I think Mom catered to Dad’s palette … certainly not us kids. Truthfully, I can’t recall the exact food that she served, but I do recall us kids protesting and being told that we had to economize … whatever that meant. (I did develop a fondness for beans and wieners).

The people around here are so snood-y.

It took them years to get the turkey industry to the point where we could have it all year round

The other people here are so nice. They keep asking me what kind of wine would be good, if they have me over for dinner. :)
