LOL.. You can tell they don’t live in Oregon. It would definitely be something besides grocery bags that he would be commenting on. We have to purchase grocery bags. In some states the charge is between 5 and 25 cents, some stores don’t even have the plastic or paper and you have to buy reusable bags at a mininum of $1. So it’s always best to have some laying around to be able to use your old ones. That way you don’t have to buy more or haul everything to your car without the bags.
Growing up less than well off, and my parents being raised by depression era parents, we tended to save anything useable. It did teach me to be thrifty and resourceful, but it can lean towards hoarding, or in my case, being a packrat. I’ve gotten better about it over the years, but I still find myself feeling guilty about throwing away something that is perfectly useful. I’d say my Achilles heel is containers of any sort. You need something to put that in? I got you covered!

So says every pack rat on the planet. But what good is it if you know you have it and you can’t find it because you forgot where you put it?

Empty grocery bags can be reused for something… I guess.

I have 4 rescue dogs. I use them for picking up their ‘leavings" and lining small trash cans. The way, I don’t have to buy any. Repurposing!

They’ve always been good for taking out the trash. Now that the stores don’t hand them out the way they used to, we have to improvise.

Never, ever, get plastic bags at stores. Paper ones can be used to recycle paper.

It will be interesting to see how far this goes into the world of hoarding and hoarders. There’s humor there, but much sadness. And often cats.

I remember the first time I was invited to a friend’s house and the parent was a hoarder. It was disturbing.

Hey. Why buy trash bags to put trash in when those trash bags are provided to you for free?
