Hah! I gave one of those to my parents. My brother didn’t believe it could work like that and licked his finger, then stuck his finger into the grid while he had the zapper turned on. Dad said my brother cursed for a “good long time” when he got shocked! (Hey, this is my second post today on this site about fly killers.

So is Hammie when he’s using the bug zapper.

My parents bought one of those zappers, and it included a long disclaimer that it was not a toy and it must not be given to children.

A few of my friends did that a while ago to see if it would work, it did!

I keep forgetting to get myself one of those. They certainly look like fun.

Great! A fly-swatter that doubles as a Zapper!! What could go wrong?!

Not just bugs.

I got an indoor bug zapper, tired of trying to catch flies. Works great.

Umm… What is the voltage of those rackets?

I suppose Hammie’s finger is small enough to slip through the outer safety screen.

On ’World’s Dumbest’, they had a clip of a guy sticking his tongue through the safety screen while the core was energized. Very similar results.

And on a cold winter day it’s Hammie that’s got his tongue stuck to a metal pole.

I love the sound (but they stink of potent chemical) of ticks frying in the pit…. I live in New England.

I saw a video of a guy who purposely touched one of these while attempting to use a harmonica – the resulting sound was…interesting.

Stupid is as stupid does.

I once had an “Eye of the Storm” plasma lightning globe that I discovered if you place your hand on top of the globe to create a single arc of “lightning” up to your hand, you could “zap” others. We were able to create a human chain of 5 people with the person on the end zapping people with a broken antenna on the other end. I now wonder if mosquitos and flies would get zapped if they landed on me. I wouldn’t mind becoming a human bug zapper if it prevented bug bites.

That has truly happened! You have to be careful where you swat!!

When these were first coming out, the company I worked for had acquired 2-3 of these for the production floor & a few guys thought it would be fun to stick their tongues on the metal screen. Yeah, there was a lot of yelling & cussing going on for a few minutes.

“If your idea of high-quality entertainment is a six-pack of beer and a bug zapper …

Those are fun, but don’t try it on a big bumblebee…it just made it really mad.
