Don’t worry school will be back in session before you know it. The schools by me just got out a couple of weeks ago and the store I work at is already setting up our back to school section up.
A couple of times parents tried sending me to day camp. I would wake them up in the middle of the night and say “I don’t want to go in the p-o-o-l” (I was told not to use the word pool as they were sick of hearing about my fear of same). And it had been MY idea for me to go to camp the first time and a few years later when I thought it would be different at a different camp.
When I was in junior high I did something even dumber. I got my parents to send me to Girl Scout sleep away camp for 2 weeks. I daily wrote a letter to them “I hate it here, come and get me.” and to my sister, 5 years younger me I would write “Tell mom and dad to come and get me.” They did not come. My mom did know that I really did not like it there when I wrote home that the fried chicken was the best meal I had – I hate(d) fried chicken.
Reading all summer was the best thing to do. Weekly trips with mom and younger sister to the library for more books. They would only let me take something like 2 or 3 books out at a time – that was maybe 2 days worth at most.
When I got to college I went summers and finished in 3 years instead of 4.

I hated summer time. Nothing to do.
