Earth weighs around 6 × 10^24 kilograms, or 1.3 × 10^25 pounds. Scientists have calculated this using laws of gravity and physics, as Earth’s weight depends on the gravitational force pulling on it.
The most comprehensive study ever of the weight of all living biomass on the planet has discovered humans account for only about 0.01 percent of life on Earth.
If everyone was in one spot, they (the people) wouldn’t have to worry about that (being burned or freezing to death) – they’d pretty much all suffocate or be crushed by the weight of each other being on top of each other or die from starvation.
The average weight of people depends upon where you live. In Africa it’s like 130 lbs, in the US, closer to 180. But let’s just say that the average human weight is 150 pounds.
Nerwin says 8 billion, we’ll go with his number.
150 times 8 billion comes out to like 1,200,000,000,000 (I hope I got that right. 1.2×10 to the 12th) One trillion 200 billion?
That is 600 million tons. According to google the Moon masses 8.1×10 to the 19th tons.
600 million tons of people is a lot, but I don’t think that it’s enough mass to cause the problems Nerwin has got Broomie worried about.
Physics doesn’t work like that, Nerwin. Moving a bunch of weight/mass from one location to another can change the axis of rotation, but it cannot change the fact that rotation is occurring.

Broomie’s nightmare must have been the RNC!

I think what Irwin said to her did it.

I don’t think all the humans weigh as much as Mount Everest so no need to worry.

India and China are right next to each other and they account for 3/8ths of the population, not even a wobble.

Thank goodness that will never happen…methinks

I think if the earth wasn’t tilted, we wouldn’t have seasons.

I would like to go to that huge convention, at least once in my life.
