When I was a teacher I took the note and grinned and said,“Oh, that is really interesting!” and put it in my pocket. The whole class got excited and kids kept asking, “What did she say? What did she say?”.

I think I was in 8th grade when the teacher picked up a note from one girl to another and read it but it didn’t say anything interesting. Just “Are we walking home together after school?” Big deal. Nowadays the kids would be texting unless the teachers collected all the phones before class.

I can’t recall anytime of notes being passed in class or especially anyone getting caught. The only happenstance similar was when a classmate was caught playing with ‘toy soldiers’ and the teacher confiscated them. PS—he never got them back ! ! !
