Wonder if the fact the water on the cold tap side is actually very warm now, that’s the reason why some tees and similar materials come out of the wash smaller.
I have a ductless A/C and my home office gets down to 82F on hot days. The unit is in my bedroom down the hall and I use fans to direct the cool air. It is comfortable. That said, when I go to a friend’s for Thanksgiving dinner it is 78F in the house and feels really stuffy.
Many years ago, we went down to visit Hubby’s parents over Christmas. It was so warm inside their house that we both took off our jackets. About five minutes later, Dad called out to his wife that we were sitting around in our shirt sleeves, and she should turn up the heat. Said, and done. Hubby had to remove his sweater, and again Dad had his wife crank up the heat. “There young’uns are sitting around in their underwear.” I had nothing else to safely remove, so I decamped to the back porch, and Hubby followed a few minutes later.
Just grateful I’m not a part of the rolling blackouts affecting numerous states. Sucks to live in states that put power grids on the backburner, you’re paying the price now.

Our air conditioning has been running continuously for weeks: even at night. I got the bill. Fortunately I can afford to pay it.
Even more fortunately, I do not have to work out in weather like this, or worse, live out in it.

Our heat pump went out first of July and part didn’t arrive until a week later. Luckily the temperature outside was only around 90.

My parents kept the house at 85 in the winter and 65 in the summer. I don’t know why.

My living quarters are very warm. My bedroom was 86 degrees the other night. No AC, only a fan.

I keep the house at 78 downstairs and 79 upstairs – the smart thermostats DO make a difference. We supplement the A/C with fans.

Hundreds of Bubble Lights do generate a bit of heat. Love those things.
