Sally knowing what bribery is, suggests she truly no longer needs to go back to school. There’s nothing more to learn. ;-)

She wants Mr. Washington, Mr. Lincoln, Mr. Hamilton, Mr. Jackson, even Mr. Jefferson to talk to her.

How’s this for a bribe. If you go to school, you won’t be punished.

Labor Day was always my least favorite holiday because it meant back to school could no longer be avoided. I loved summer vacation…it was so…educational.

The hard part for me going back to school was sitting in a hot classroom during Indian summer

Sally is a very unpredictable character. Sometimes she’s naive as child her age should be, but, then other times she’s very worldly-wise.

Why would Charlie Brown pay her a bribe? What’s it to him if she goes to school or not? I mean, he has some big brother concern for her well-being, but if she demands bribe money to go to school then that ship has already sailed.

When I was a kid, school started the day after Labor Day in northern states. Now, in the south, school starts the 1st or 2nd week of August and some schools do not have air-conditioning!

As a child, I was terrified of going to school, and especially, of exam weeks. I somehow managed to pass each grade, but, I knew I had some sort of learning problem. Tthough ADHD was first recognized in the mid-50’s (I was in elementary school in the 60’s), my mother never would have spent a dime, to have me tested. FINALLY, after only 60 years, I was officially diagnosed with it.“A day late, and a dollar short.”
