Up until about middle school, kids don’t make clothing choices.Parents who get their kids involved in the clothes shopping this early deserve all the suffering they get – since it’s pretty much self inflicted.
Any thing he gets will turn into looking like a cleaning rag anyway. Go to a thrift store or yard sale- they are already broke in….just a smart suggestion.
I don’t ever recall being a difficult child when my Mom would buy our school clothes, we didn’t have much money when I was young so it was whatever was on sale or hand me downs from my sister if they were in still good shape and then when I was a teenager I would go with parents to help pick out clothes but I wore basically the same thing I wear now, knit pants and regular lady tops, I am more particular to colors then design. Like recently, I bought a dress that was on sale from the online company that I buy all my clothes from and I ordered the size of my nightshirts but it was too big so I wanted to exchange it for a size smaller but same color but they were sold out and on back order until mid December, popular color was the reason why they told me it was on back order so late, it took me a couple of minutes to decide what other color I wanted for the exchange because I don’t like certain colors, I received new one a couple of days ago but I haven’t had a chance to try it on yet but I hope it fits because it is the only other color I wanted and it was a great sale price, 60 % off regular price.

After one day on the playground and/or gets beat up, his new shirt will look like a rag.

I’ve kind of gotten used to the shirt he’s currently wearing. They should get about a dozen more just like that one.

Why would you want to wear something like that?

Cut a hole in the middle and he can wear it as a poncho.

Darryl, Darryl, Darryl. You’re the adult parent, I think, and Hammie is the child. Find the right size, buy it and he will wear it.

Fashion these days — “distressed” jeans — cleaning-rag shirts may be next!

when Ⅰ was a kid at Hammie’s age, at least half of my clothes were hand-me-downs from cousins who had outgrown, but hadn’t worn out the items
but Ⅰ think a good many things were better quality back then

Hammie wants the shirt that says “SCHOOL SUCKS”

I don’t like the shirt either Hammie, it’s just not you. But forget the cleaning rag too.

Hammie is starting a new fashion trend! It is the old “I wear pre-worn-out clothes” and he adds “also with spots of unknown origin”.
I’m sure it will become modern, remember where you first saw it!
