All I have is a fringe and I use a #5 blade on my ancient Sears trimmer to cut it. Takes about three minutes. I haven’t been to a barber in over 30 years.

I tell my barber I’m not looking for a comb over. “Cut the top short too.”

For me a close shave is when the hound or eagle almost catches me.

I still have hair on top, but it’s white, so I have it cut to an 8. It’s long enough that I don’t look bald, and short enough that I don’t need to brush or comb it.

Husband’s hair is a little thinner and over the decades it changed from black to grey and is now a lovely shade of white. He had longish hair in college. Since we started doing 18th century reenacting he lets his hair grow longish so he can wear it in a “queue” (pony tail) for reenacting. When it gets too long for him to be comfortable he puts in the pony tail and I snip a little off the end – repeat until he is happy with the length.
