I use my slow cooker year around to make soups and roast (to slice up for sandwiches mainly). Every three months or so I make up six quarts of chili and freeze in individual servings (about 24 one-cup servings). Chili is used once or twice a week to top a baked potato or pasta (usually spaghetti). Fairly cheap (about a dollar a serving, depending on the current cost of Italian sausage), filing meals.

I made the first slow cooker meal of the season yesterday. It was a rainy day and this just hit the spot. Yum.

The only problem with slow cookers is the way they saturate the whole house with smell

I wish! It’s going to be in the 90s today.

That’s exactly what I’m doing today. My plan is to turn a pile of seven kinds of vegetables and a little bit of chicken into meals for two weeks.

Any thing cooked in a slow cooker can be done in no time at all in a pressure cooker.

I remember the slow cooker, it went out to the yard sale with the bread maker and the baconizer (don’t ask)
