No question about it: that’s the cutest yak I’ve ever seen.

And the toy looks interested (observe his eyes in the last panel). He just might become another “Hobbes” to Nerwin’s “Calvin”.

A teddy bear would have been unbearable!

Yak butter is the principle export of Tibet.

Yakity, yak! I guess the yak can’t talk back!

The yak is adorable, but in this case Nerwin is back to being annoying.

They’re going clean them out for Christmas.

Nerwin seems to be enjoying himself.

When my wife and I took our daughter to the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, WA, we were driving through the park and stopped to check out a couple of Yaks. One of them walked over and stuck its head through the window.

Our daughter reached out and patted it on the nose. We told her it was a Yak and on the way home she repeated Yak Yak.

We still get a laugh out of it.

Yak is one of those words that sets off a reaction.

And here I thought people would say Yakity Yak don’t talk back.
