Decision on Rays’ interim home is pending assessment of Trop damage
Officials are waiting to see if a return to the storm-damaged facility is possible at some point. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred would like everything resolved by Christmas.
We’re waiting for a quote on a giant blue tarp on the roof. :)
I find it amazing how some people will point to the survivors of a less-safety-oriented era and ignore the fact that the non-survivors aren’t here to chime in on the other side.
“Back in my day, we didn’t have seat belts, and here I am in my seventies.” (Ignoring the fact that “back in the day” 50,000 people died in automobile accidents each year, while now 15,000 fewer auto deaths occur each year.)
“Vaccinations are for sheeple. Let your children get these childhood diseases. It makes them stronger.” (Ignoring two facts: That it could (and did) kill some of them, and that vaccinations do exactly that, but in a safe manner.)
Saw on a hockey game a player who did not have a face shield. Because a few years back his co-players said real men don’t wear shields, but now must do.
There are 8 – 10 players in the NFL and one in the CFL who are wearing the guardian caps during the regular season. And one of those leagues has made mouth guards mandatory for non-qbs. I think by 2030 we will see guardian caps mandatory for everyone.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is back, all ready to play after his third diagnosed concussion. Let the carnage continue.

I’d wear the extra padding. The end result of CTE is horrible.

there has been material around that would do impact reduction for 30+ years, but the NFL did nothing, showing their extreme concern for the players,

Careers involve sacrifice? Not if I don’t get paid for it. Not any more.
