This calls for Monty Python’s Galaxy Song: “So remember, when you’re feeling very small and insecure,How amazingly unlikely is your birth; And pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere out in space,‘Cause there’s bugger all down here on Earth!”
“Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-two million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.”― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
For a good laugh, much needed now, check out SNL Close Encounter sketches. Starring Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, and Ryan Gosling. There are a number of them.
More likely, any other intelligence out there simply doesn’t know we’re here. People forget the size of just our galaxy alone, and the fact that our communications travel at the speed of light means that anything further out than say, 150 light years (I’m rounding, for neatness sake) will not have heard a single peep from us.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
We have not tried to contact intelligent life in the cosmos. It turns out to be much cheaper to listen than to transmit. There could be millions of civilizations out there – all listening.
UAPs UFOs USOs have been seen on photographs and videos for quite some time especially with the advent of cell phones with photo and video capability, why haven’t these aliens made contact? Because they’re smart those aliens, if they make contact then they would have to be involved with our business, you know like wars. So the smart thing to do is ignore us, probe us some do but even the Greys know better than start a conversation before inserting that probe.

Isn’t it odd that this wisdom comes only from Calvin and Pogo?
Gent 16 days ago
It just because it takes several lightyears to gets to anywhere in this universe. Otherwise there woulda be lotsa aliens invasions already.
snsurone76 16 days ago
And they have better sense than to try to invade us.

Maybe they’ve seen us but avoided contact because they’re afraid that’ll just make things worse…

Both the U.S. and Europe have more forest than they did 100 years ago. Calvin (meaning Watterson) makes a false assumption.

Of course it wouldn’t try to contact us if it didn’t exist either.

Surely the sign of no intelligent life is that I was not elected.

That’s not it. They don’t want to contact us.

Respect fellow Americans and they might show you respect back. Talking down to people gives you nothing but smugness.

Hobbes should have argued that really intelligent alien life would contact earth through tigers rather than through humans.

From the most recent news reports, the most telling reasons for avoiding contact with earth are the final results.

Panel #2: That sounds like something Hobbes would say, not Calvin.

This is one of the absolute most iconic quotes by Calvin, meaning Bill Watterson, so let’s pay our homage
