The man’s exactly right. Live sports are a HUGE part of streaming video now. Netflix is picking up WWE, and may have a shot at MMA before too much longer. And that’s just the start.
In the beginning, pay TV was supposed to be ad free. But slowly it turned grim, because greedy people wanted more from viewers. How many more streaming networks can people afford?
The monopoly of sports, stupid game shows and outrageous scripted “reality” shows has taken over the minds of Americans. To me, it’s dumbing down America, and lowering standards, and choices for viewing!American society has become greedy, lazy, and less educated. In my county alone, only 46% of the people got off their couches and voted. This was a crucial election and now we’ll all have to suffer the consequences…I am anxious, afraid, and so disappointed in the turnout, and fear for the future of this country.☹️God help us all!
My wife is a fan of the Oklahoma football team and this season she’s missed about four games because they were only available with a subscription to a streaming channel.
College football is the best. College loyalties and fan participation at its finest. Only two games did I watch yesterday, Notre Dame is always one. It has always been my team throughout my life it, though was never my Alma Mater, sadly, as I could only afford state college.Seminaries, however, usually kick butt in debates but would probably do pretty good in cooking. Preaching and eating do go hand in hand and as Roman Catholic Priests don’t have wives, many priests are great cooks. It actually might make a good cooking show…….
And that game was a real sizzler too! But I’m with the guys. After being assured of my Buckeyes’ big win I had to toggle between CBS to watch Xichigan lose again and ABC to watch Georgia lose. Great day! At least until the evening when my beloved Blue Jackets lost again. Silver lining: the Browns won’t lose today (yay for bye weeks)!
I like the front views of Brutus and Ted that suddenly popped out at me. Felt like they were doing a celebrity endorsement commercial for a moment there.
My basic cable is free courtesy of my HOA but the contract with the cable provider apparently will expire so I will need a subscription to keep it and I will have to fork out $61. I am already paying the cable company $115.95 for Internet service and the basic cable box. I have Live TV through my Roku so bye.

College football. For fans who think that the NFL isn’t corrupt enough.

Quite ironic when you consider that once you’ve seen one football game, you’ve seen ‘em all (at least as far as I’m concerned).

Apparently education is secondary at many colleges. The dumbing of America, by the party that “loves the poorly educated.”

Watching SEC games on CBS used to be so great. I miss Verne Lundquist. He was an amazing broadcast announcer.

The school names in the last panel sound almost as real as some of the names of actual obscure colleges.

If politics were football, trump would be the SEC and Harris the big sky conference.

In Panel 3, is that “that” in the wrong location?
