Obviously, Billy Corgan was in the neighborhood

One year we put out a large serving bowl with candy and a note to take two pieces while we took our own two kids around. When we got back the whole bowl was gone. We found the bowl down the block, empty of course. We never did that again.

We hand out miniature Hershey chocolates. I encourage the kids to take a couple. Real little kids need the encouragement, because by nature they only want to take one.

Deer in my area would appreciate if I put out pumpkins.

The little hellions should be locked up in Juvy ‘till they’re 18, along with the parents who didn’t train ’em.

Saw a news article where a bear grabbed a pumpkin for a snack.

Be grateful that it made it to the next day…

Realism. You don’t get that in every comic strip.

A neighbor put out one huge pumpkin in their front yard. I’m sure they were very happy with it but as usual some idiots had to smash it all up. Sad. This year no pumpkin at all. :-(

It’s an excellent trap. We do the same. And then on Halloween we hand out candied body parts from the kids who have tried to smash the pumpkin. It’s a win-win situation.

Forget the note, put a dye bag in it.

what you do is put a brick inside the pumpkin, so that when they go to smash it they hurt themselves, also make sure you have a camera that can see the pumpkin so you can identify vandals if they decide to break anything else.

Vandals responding well to courteous notes?!? You had to reach adulthood to realize that’s a delusion?!?

He must be thinking of literate vandals.

Jack would have been happier inside the house. :)

Well, he could always fill the carved pumpkin with cement.
