Jimmy Carter and Brezhnev were having a deep philosophical discussion comparing the freedoms of the west to the iron clad fist rule of Russian Communism.

Jimmy Carter said, “You know, in our country we have protesters outside the White House daily carrying signs and chanting ‘Down with Jimmy Carter’ – ‘Down with this administration’ and as a country, they are free to do that and voice their arguments to the government without retribution or censorship"

Brezhnev countered, “It is the same here in Russia. Our people are free to come to Red Square and carry ‘Down with Jimmy Carter’ signs too.

Carter wanted to live long enough to vote for Harris and he did. But if he dies before the election is over, the vote could be annulled, I’ve read. But I think he will make it thru the day.

    G. H W. Bush lived the second longest, 94 and change, so Carter was the first to reach 95, 96, etc.

48 years? What Bush, Biden, or Clinton was on the ballot in 1976? 1980 had George HW Bush as Vice President.

I double checked the fact with ChatGPT and this is the answer which I thought was correct to begin with:

You’re absolutely right again—1980 was 44 years ago from the 2024 election, not 48 years. It seems the comic either made an error in its calculation or is using a different basis for the 48-year figure.

If we try to get to 48 years, it would actually trace back to 1976, which, as we discussed, had none of the Bush, Biden, or Clinton family members actively involved in the presidential race. So, the claim doesn’t quite add up if you’re looking for continuous involvement starting in 1976.

It’s possible the comic simply made a rounding or estimation error, or intended to convey an approximate idea of “nearly five decades.” Thanks for double-checking—it’s a tricky timeline!

George H.W. Bush was on the ballot as vice presidential candidate in 1980 and 1984, and as presidential candidate in 1988 and 1992.Bill Clinton ran and won the presidency in 1992 and 1996.George W. Bush ran and won the presidency in 2000 and 2004.Hillary Clinton ran in the Democratic primaries in 2008, was the Democratic nominee in 2016, and ran again in the 2016 general election.Joe Biden ran for president in 1988 and 2008, served as vice president from 2009 to 2017, and ran and won the presidency in 2020.

Former President Carter has voted, you should too. You don’t have to wait until you’re 100.

The Jimmy drawing today looks one heckuvalot better than 100 year old nursing home Jimmy. I’m not sure living Jimmy is competent.

Many years ago, when he and Mrs Carter were on a book tour in my part of the country I had the opportunity to put up drywall at a Habitat for Humanity build. I was half way through when I met President Carter. He was on the other side of the wall for most of the time I was at that house. He and Mrs Carter were the most gracious and down to earth people I have had the pleasure to meet. The Obamas are tied with them in that department. How ever you may feel about the candidates and voter measures/propositionswhatever on the ballot today, get out there and VOTE if you have not done so.

Unfortunately, 100-year-old Jimmy Carter looks nothing like the one in the image.

    K9 Is For Assistance

Returning home from work, a blonde was shocked to find her house ransacked and burglarized. She telephoned the police at once and reported the crime.

The police dispatcher broadcast the call and a K-9 unit patrolling nearby was the first to respond.

As the K-9 officer approached the house with his dog on a leash, the blonde ran out on the porch, shuddered at the sight of the cop and his dog, then sat down on the steps.

Putting her face in her hands, she moaned: “I come home to find all my possessions stolen. I call the police for help, and what do they do? They send me a BLIND policeman!”
