[nit picking] Shoe is a newspaper editor; he’d have heard of the play. Should have been Loon or Mort. otoh, the strip is named after him, so I guess he gets to pick his scenes.

And come to think of it, Henry IV had a part I and part II.

We all watched Star Wars episode IV: A New Hope first.

It was like the movie Se7ven for me. I had to see the first six movies first

I’d say that sums up modern journalism: totally ignorant of history.

Of course Shakespeare’s history plays were far from historically accurate….The Britcom “Upstart Crow” has a lot of fun with that.
