We had a grey tuxedo kitten way back- our neighbors chose him from the litter. He was the last kitten to be born and it took Mom forever to birth him- quite big- we named him Moby after the whale!
Great poem. Very relatable. I think there are times when we all want to be alone and not be the center of attention. On another note, saw four wrens, a squirrel, two chickadees, four nuthatches, and a varied thrush while out walking today.
True story. Back in May 2007, my daughter saw a wee little face underneath a car in a shopping centre near her University dorm. She called out to him, “Hey there little dude”, and he climbed up her leg into her arms. He was barely 5 weeks old, if that — he must had come in from a farm on a car or truck or something. She asked around, and of the people coming and going from the hardware store. No-one had any info. So, she brought him to her dorm, and then brought him home to us that coming weekend’s visit. He is still with us. We will miss him greatly when he leaves us, he is starting to experience kidney and thyroid problems… But, today’s poem above fits him to a TEE.

This is like my sister’s cat, Jelly Bean. (Yes, named after the Jelly Bean in this comic strip) She is so shy! But sweet as can be. <3

One of the better “kitty” poems. It seems like numbers of us can identify with “kitty”.
