Sam’s got the crew lined up for grilling, and we aint talkin’ pastrami concoctions !  The coat no doubt has blood in places we’ll never see so I ask, did he really get shot or are we pulling a major bluff ?

We are set up for a “locked room mystery” at this point.

Ah, Tracy has several yellow coats in his closet!

I think it’s a bit disturbing that Tracy apparently has dozens of bright yellow hat-coat combos that he can just loan out casually.

it’s a two week minute mystery and we’re done with week 1 and they’ve only just gotten the suspects together?

When did Sam grow a hooked nose? It was always bulbus.

There’s Sam . Better than nothing I suppose .

1- SAM?: I’d stay and help you sort this but there’s a perfect copy of Tess back there who has promised to do all the nasty things I often dream of doing with the real Tess so – gotta go! DT: Good luck – ‘cause the real Tess is a frigid block of ice who makes Antarctica seem warm and inviting.

2- SAM: Thanks Tracy. I guess the cosplay thing ends at appearances and doesn’t go into personality. DT: (Abruptly turns away) I don’t wanna talk about it. I DO however wanna hear everything about your date later! Maybe some photos or better yet – video? Try to stay outta the shot though – you’re a real bone-killer if you know what I mean.

SAM: Yeah. Say – is this your pen? I found it in Dead Tracy’s neck. A Mont Blanc. I’m keeping it if it’s not yours. DT: Knock yourself out.

Rick Burchett’s rendering of Sam and Tracy bears the most similarity to Gould’s style of any of the strip’s artists I’ve seen since 1977. Gould had become a backdrop minimalist over the last decade he drew D.T., partly due to constant space reductions. Good to see background detail return, even if current panel number is limited to 2 or 3. Of course, space limitations make for slower story progression, as many of the complaints here reflect.

Okay,to quote an old “gag Cartoon” Gould drew—“I want to see how you’d handle em’ all at once”.

The art is much better…..story line warming up……….or not?

Eh. If Roche called to borrow the hat and coat, how come Tracy didn’t know that this was cosplay when “Flattop” answered the door? (Especially since he knows the real Flattop is dead?)

Roche couldn’t find a yellow trench coat and a fedora himself?
