Really guys, I know you can’t be all good all the time, but you could at least try harder. Especially the way you treat Annie. Do better next year. There might not be much hope for this year.
BATHTUB PARTY DAY. Bathtub Party Day encourages us all to skip the ordinary shower and linger in the tub instead. On December 5th, add some suds to the tub and pamper yourself. (This is not for me. I never did like taking a bath. I much prefer a shower.
From yesterday’s comments to QOA – I’m sorry for all that has been happening with your sister. Something like that happened with my sister, Martha. She had all kinds of problems – feelings like cramps or whatever (Martha was never a complainer and never admitted to being in pain. She always claimed only a “discomfort”). She went to a few different doctors, but her husband, Jim, was a lazy slob who didn’t work a day in his life after they were married and he didn’t want to be bothered with taking her to doctors when there was the slightest risk of snow (or even rain, because they might get struck by lightning). She was misdiagnosed I don’t know how many times, with some minor thing and Jim made no demands to discover why she was feeling so bad. By the time they finally got her the right diagnosis, it was stage 4 cancer. She was given 6 months to live. She would not accept that and she fought hard and lived another 3 or 4 years. But she didn’t stand a chance of beating the cancer once it had reached stage 4. If Jim had fought for her and gotten her to better doctors, she might have been cured and might still be living today. And when the nursing home called him the day Martha was taking her last breaths, pleading with Jim to come and say goodbye to her, he didn’t go because it was raining and he didn’t want to get struck by lightning. That made us so mad! Naturally, nobody in my family had any sympathy for him when Karma got him. He died of cancer a couple of years after she did. None of us went to his funeral.
I’m doing much better. I did stay home from work again on Wednesday. I still had a slight fever early in the morning, but it’s stayed normal all the rest of the day. I’ve been coughing a little, but not a lot. With my regular day off being Thursday, I expect to be fully recovered by Friday. I finally feel up to eating too. I did have to make a quick run up to the Dollar General store yesterday to buy a bag of dry cat food for my gang because I had run out. I had intended to buy some at Walmart after work on Tuesday, but that didn’t work out. There is a Dollar General here in town, less than a mile from my place. The cat food costs more there, but I sure could not go to Walmart to buy it on a day I had called off from work! I’ll buy more on Friday, after work.
They are so cute, Santa will forget to check the logs he keeps all year. Today is FIVE YEARS since Craig’s death, so hard to believe it’s been that long. Part of the reason he moved to our little town was the wonderful Eastern Sierra Museum a few blocks away, I’ll take my lunch over and pay a visit in his honor.
i have a new pup. Her name is Fawn. She is a whippet and terrier mix. Seriously cute.
I have posted photos of her at CleoAndCompany, which is a dot net.
Her and Buddy are getting along, that is to say she is mostly ignoring him. She has only snapped at him twice. He wants her to play but she is still in shock from being left here.
Kiki is not a happy kitty. She has set up shop in the closet. I’ve seen tis before. She as food water and a box. I’ll give er all the time it takes.
Fawn is experienced with cats so she knows to give the thing with all the pointy bits its space.
When I was about 5, I went to see Santa. As usual, he asked if I’d been a good girl. I told him “most of the time.” I couldn’t figure out why everyone in ear shot was laughing.
It was a good effort. However, they’re not fooling anybody. On another note, saw two golden crowned kinglets, a wren, and a varied thrush while out walking today.

I received an update from Queen of America Wednesday late afternoon on (the formerly “wee”) Hondo, along with a photo. As quoted from QoA:
“She sure has come a long way from her skinny, screaming, sad days. She seems to like the quilt I made for Deb.”

I put my little (32") fibre optic table top tree up this morning. Thor is the only one currently awake and he is highly perplexed!
