Starting in the 1960’s the New York Daily News had a sports cartoonist, Bill Gallo, and he would refer to the worse team or player of the week as a goat.

Old goat = still virile and amorous older man.

We are all legends in our own minds …

Come on it ain’t pluggers who be acting the goat.

It’s amazing how punctuation totally changes the meaning of a senteance or a word. Goat vs G.O.A.T

I prefer to be called a “curmudgeon.”

Charlie Brown never wanted to be “the goat”. It’s amazing that massive amounts of money spent on sports “news” can invert the meaning of a term.

A PLUGGER knows that a "goat’ is short for “scapegoat” and means the person blamed for a loss or a failure! GOAT with that other meaning is for millennials and other whippersnappers!

I don’t honestly believe a real Plugger is going to associate the newer interpretation, with his being the “greatest of all time.”
