That’s pretty close to that-a-way!

Why do we say over yonder but never under yonder?

hither, thither and yon

“’But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? " Romeo & Juliet.

Is it over yonder, under yonder, to one side of yonder, or t’other side of yonder?

This comic has lived in my brain since I was I was the age of my avatar. Anytime I hear the word yonder, I have to say “I always wondered where yonder was.”

Isn’t it obvious? Yonder is over there.

Does ‘over yonder’ mean there’s something in the sky above a place called Yonder?

In the south it is “Or yonder”. In New Hampshire, “Yah can’t git there froomm hir”
