I can always get my own shovel. Back when I used to live in snow country (Ohio), I would have appreciated a snow blower. In getting only two or three major storms a year though, I couldn’t justify the expense of buying one.

Lucky me, my wife enjoys shoveling snow. I once bought her a nice warm pair of gloves for Christmas for just that purpose.

Been there and made this mistake, my wife wouldn’t tell me what she wanted. It was a top of the line kirby, for the price of a ring, I would have been further ahead. And I inherited all cleaning from that day forward. My gift to my ex was a roomba and divorce papers.
