I had a friend like that! She even claimed I was her ‘best friend’. I stopped phoning her, she phoned ONCE afterwards (about a month later, and after my birthday) to remind me hers was coming up!

And so also did ‘The Godfather‘.

Don’t let people know you’re handy, or have a truck.

I feel fortunate to have close family and friends. We keep hearing so much about separation, and loneliness. Reach out, hug somebody. Then do it again.

Aunty, I don’t remember you anytime so you can take comfort in that.

My wife’s “best friend”. Haven’t seen or heard from her since my wife’s memorial service in July 2014.

You are indispensable but know when you’re taken advantage of and value your self -worth.

Friends I’ve not seen in years have reached out since we evacuated the Eaton Fire in Altadena, CA. I’ve had offers of housing in Massachusetts, Colorado, Oregon… and yes, several in Los Angeles.

been there, but most of them are old folks who have no money and need the help, and, to be fair, they are very appreciative!
