Many regret it when every day is a weekend, like when you retire or become disabled.

What weekend? I’m retired, so every day is like a holiday.

Retirement is bliss! Training years for Paradise!

Get your butt moving, it was a series of weekend shots to H3ll.

When you’re retired, Mondays aren’t anything special, but nothing to dread either.

This Is What Happens When Industries Have Weekends

Due to a combination of banking issues and travelling for the holidays, I end up being late paying my phone bill. When I get home and check my mailbox, I find a reminder bill with a late fee added. I’m still having problems with my bank, so I decide to call customer service.

The problem is that my job does not permit me to make private phone calls while on the clock. My work hours happen to be the exact same as the phone company customer service’s work hours. I ask my manager to let me clock out a little early one afternoon so I can call and get the whole thing sorted out.

So, five minutes to five on a Friday afternoon, I call customer service and reach a representative.

Me: “Hello, I’m calling about my late fee. I just wanted—”

Representative: Hurriedly “Ah, yes. I can see here that the original bill has been paid in full and this is the first time you’ve been late, so I’m just going to remove the fee, all right?”

Me: “…yes, thank you. That’s very kind.”

Representative: “Great! Have a good weekend, goodbye!”

I was actually calling to let them know that I was, of course, planning to pay the late fee as soon as I had sorted out my banking issues. I guess it pays to call customer service five minutes before closing on a Friday!

What’s a weekend?

We all have the flu so it wasn’t a pleasant weekend.

They do seem to go by quickly, don’t they?

How did YOU get such a long weekend? I only get 10 seconds if I’m lucky!

One benefit of being retired is getting things done during other people’s work week and avoiding the crowds.

When Spring is a weekend in late April if we’re lucky, a 30 minute weekend sounds nice :D

In my experience the key to a successful retirement is to be involved in something you enjoy. Sitting in the recliner in front of the TV is a sure way to become part of the group that retired and then were dead in a few years.

Well if you didn’t drink your way through them with cheap booze they would seem much longer.

I’m sure the whole weekend was a blur for you when you’re in a stupor.

I worked the weekend, so I’m off today.

I’m retired, tired, and have weak ends, but glad to still be gettin’ around with my rollator.

Mondays are the easiest day of the week for me. And After Friday I’m off for the next ten days! Now if only there wasn’t rain (with a slight chance of snow) this Wednesday night to Friday morning.

It’s like continual TV commercials!

What happened to the four-day-workweek? It would be healthier for our mental health. Maybe AI will make it more than just a pipe dream.
