Ah sweet Dill. You’d think he would have had enough “volunteer” time with his brothers, but he’s not expecting Ms. Bliss to use him as canon fodder like his brothers do. Plus, being the youngest in a large family, he probably craves attention. Recognition is more important to him than a little drudgery.
