I was watching (and thoroughly enjoying) a Philomena Cunk video yesterday and it suddenly struck me that if any parents wanted to encourage their child’s dream to someday be president, they should let them see Ms Cunk in action.
Inflated over-confidence (despite severe lack of knowledge or understanding), questions so stupid that they actually paralyze the experts, and constant departures into random personal anecdotes.
She’s the perfect model for the presidentially ambitious.
If you listen to the MAGA cult, “illegals” are taking jobs away from Americans AND collecting welfare benefits which are available only to the employed and underemployed. Neat trick!
Even notice that rising wages for most workers contribute to inflation but, magically, massive increases in C-suite compensation doesn’t? It’s almost like economists are ignoring it. They wouldn’t to that, now, would they? I mean, I’m just asking.
I recommend that all of us on the right and the left read one of the following books by Robert Reich: Saving Capitalism and/or The System. While he served as Labor Secretary in a Democratic administration, I find his writing to be fairly neutral. After all my deep dives into several books, I found that he explains how the system really works in a easy to understand summary manner. He also has a substack where he explains things in a very understandable way. The things he explains I saw happening to my small town in upstate New York and in the semiconductor industry in the Bay Area (aka Silicon Valley which is quite a misnomer these days). We should all be working together to fix the system instead of fighting with each other over issues made up by the oligarchy to divide us.

They no longer even need to ask for tax cuts for billionaires and patriotic multinational corporations. It’s just part of the standing orders.
And all magats believe it benefits them personally.
Still.

In 2021, the corporate profits along with trump’s deal with OPEC was the (t)reason for most of the inflation.

When Lawrence Summers talked about beating inflation through higher unemployment my response was that if that was true Harvard should fire him.

Don’t kid yourself, we’ve got a pretty good oligarchy going in the US.

I predict a rise in inflation, a drop in employment and a crash in crypto that will take the economy with it. In 90 days.
