There is a Wikipedia entry titled “Church of St Mary and All Saints, Chesterfield”. This is the church with the famous twisted and leaning spire. Local legend has it that the spire will straighten up should a virgin ever marry in the church. ;-)

These days that’s a good choice, especially in the UK.

Too many people with IOUs out there.

Used to be that you’d have to the local betting shop to place a bet, and to a private club to drink, gamble, or play the slots. Now, you can do all your gambling and make all your wagers with apps on your phone … and with the prices of a pint or a drink in the pubs, it’s way cheaper to keep all your vices at home!

So Jack has taken a (well-deserved) holiday?

Missouri legalized online sports betting in November but it won’t be implemented until the summer. I have zero interest in that, and I haven’t been to one of our casinos in years. I did watch “A Day at the Races” last night, if that counts..,,,
