How true – IPA used to be a good drink, with interesting flavours…now it’s trendy to shove lemon or grapefruit into them and they are disgusting (to this long term IPA and bitter drinker anyway).

Even my son, who was a dedicated IPA drinker in his youth , doesn’t order them any more.

I have a favorite IPA that I have been drinking for years. Two years ago, my niece, knowing I like IPA brought me a very unique, very nice one from a craft brewery about eight hundred miles away. Now I wish it hadn’t tasted so great because I think of it most times I have one of my inferior ones.

I don’t particularly care for IPA’s, but the differences among them is incredible. They do not all taste the same.

I don’t feel anyone should have to drink bitter beer and that’s quite a statement from me because I do like an occasional Schlitz which is higher in hops % than most commercial brews. I tried a few IPAs and found them to have too much bite in taste and then I tried a few IPAs with fruit and floral notes added to them to subdue the bitter taste and decided masking still didn’t deliver a good experience and kind of defeats the purpose of the IPA. I’m just one of those of us that actually likes to taste a little malt in my beer. Besides I don’t live in India and don’t need to have my beer shipped from England which was the purpose of IPAs in the first place. My favorite beers travel just fine, thank you.

Just have a Guinness and leave the IPA alone.

Am I the only one who has no idea what an IPA is?

I worked in a large, industrial winery that had a client that bottled several different brands of wines from the same tank lots (perfectly legal, though ethically questionable). I wish I’d searched out reviews for them for comparison and amusement.

I prefer Stella Artois apple cider. YMMV.

The last time I drank an IPA was at a wedding. I noticed my reaction was just like everyone else I saw drank it. We took one swallow and abandoned it.
