My two main seed catalogs arrived weeks ago. Although my garden size is quite small compared to years ago, I still order more than logical, even with drip irrigation to increase water efficiency, and a juicer and dehydrator to reduce produce volume for freezing and pantry storage. I don’t have the energy to do canning like I used to.
My closest friend from school sent me 2 packages of wild flowers seeds. Wild flowers from the Swabian Alb where I grew up. This is all I need for the garden this year. And of course a lot of energy and sharp scissors to cut the hedges. There is quite something to do this spring. Wasn’t able to do much last year, so…
The arrival of seed catalogs for my wife is like toy catalogs for a kid. She’s already making her list and checking it twice and ready to start placing orders. She also knows that spring is just around the corner.
interesting timing… my wife just reminded me this morning of all the bulbs she planted last fall that we can look forward to this spring!… (unfortunately it’ll be awhile yet, but we can dream, can’t we?? :)

Only had one show up so far. Guess I’ll use the online version for the one I usually order from: Pinetree garden seeds.

Received my first order already and purchased more yesterday. Need to get them in the ground before next week’s snow (does that make any sense?)

I have a brown thumb – the opposite of a green thumb. I touch a plant – it dies. :-)
