Friend had 3 remotes to turn on TV and sound system and some other thing. It would take him 20 minutes to turn the TV on. I have a Samsung Set and Samsung Sound bar. I can use the Sound bar’s remote to turn on both.
One remote to turn TV on and off, one to turn cable box on and off and change channels, one to operate the sound bar, one for the DVD player and one to operate the VCR.
One for the cable box, one for the tv, one for the Blu-Ray/DVD and one for the DVD/VCR. The Cable box controller can also control the tv and the sound system. The TV can switch inputs. So, we turn on the tv and cable with one controller. The tv control can switch to the various inputs and those inputs, DVD/Blu Ray and DVD/VCR, have their controllers. And labels on the backs of the controllers help.

At my daughter’s house it takes all of those. By the time you learn the order to use them in you forget it.

I can relate. I sometimes need two remotes to turn the TV on or all the way off.

It does seem to be getting more manageable these days than it was when smart TVs first became a thing.
