I think it’s a prank. Drug companies’ representatives go to see doctors and tell them “This month, we’re doing Ipsuflexitorimoxtocine. It’ll be on prime time all around the country. If anyone can pronounce it, give it to them. It’s just a placebo, but that guy deserves it if he can!” :D

Some of the side effects to these advertised meds which are spewed out at a high rate of speed are cancer and sudden death! I think I’ll pass.

The side effects are always MUCH more dangerous than the ailment it is suppose to alleviate.

Yes to all the above. And don’t assume your doctor knows best. Do your own due diligence, and accept responsibility for your own care. I’m not saying that all doctors are suspect; a few are. For the rest, talking to them and questioning their logic is a good thing to do. If they don’t like it, change doctors, if you can. At the very least follow your own gut and talk about it with others. In multiple opinions more truth is found.

l “love” the Rx commercials (not really); 10-15 seconds (maybe) describing what the Rx helps/cures. 30-45 seconds with all the reasons not to take it because it will KILL you!!! Geeez.

Every doctor I’ve asked hates these ads. Patients come in demanding the drug-of-the-month, with no idea what it does or if they need it. I remember the original ads for Nexium never actually said what it was FOR, just that you should ask for it.

Being told that I should ask my doctor if the drug is right for me is just one of the several objections I have to drugs being advertised on TV.
