That’s a pretty good idea, John! My first idea was to have the opposing team get to skeetshoot the football… but that seemed too easy.
Then I thought, hey… when the center snaps the ball to the holder, instead of the kicker trying to split the uprights, have a round of dodgeball breakout!
at least for the PAT – have the ball placed in line where the ball scored the TD. As per rugby league and union – makes it a lot more challenging trying to score from either sideline (but knowing the way NFL works, teams would probably have a separate kicker for each sideline)
Allow the opposing team to have their starting and backup quarterbacks on the field, each with a football. They can stand anywhere on their side of the line of scrimmage. During the kick, they can throw their football at the kicked football trying to knock it away while it’s in the air. I’d expect it would rarely matter, but it would make the kicks more exciting and worth it for the few highlights when they actually connect.
Why have a kickoff when the ball is guaranteed to go through the end zone and the play starts on the 35 yard line. Just dispense with the kickoff and start at the 35.

I prefer the stadiums where the goal posts twirl. If the ball hits an upright, the twirling motion will send it way up into the stands. FREE BALL!!

I’m still working on these.

Or do what is drawn in the comic: let the defenders have 12 players on FGs

Time to use a slightly deflated ball and see what happens.

There are too many men on the field. Was this done on purpose to see if we would notice?

Anything to make the game less boring! How about NEVER letting the clock stop? That would help too.

Penalty! 12 men on the field, defense.

12 red helmets on the field, 5 yard penalty and first down for blue.
