Scott (Eric) seems to be selectively, deliberately leaving out Musk’s Hitler salute. I’m pretty sure the stuff he’s talking about now happened afterwards.

    America, where are you now?

Don’t you care about your sons and daughters?

Don’t you know, we need you now!

We can’t fight alone against the monster!

I remember this song when I was draft age during Vietnam.

I can’t believe it brings tears to my eyes now.

Was I numb then? Scared of dying in a war that we couldn’t understand. Then Nixon and Watergate.

    But no tears back then.

    So, why the tears now?

Back then, was it that there was light at the end of the tunnel?

But now, we know it’s an oncoming train?

Stantis will for sure never insult Fox “news”.

    .

You’ll notice he calls attention to the threats, but only opines that the targeted countries probably won’t like it. As far as whether Trump should be attacking our allies, he cannot bring himself to have an opinion about that.

Because, you know, both sides. Equally.

I hope Trump will get rid of these plans about Greenland, Panama, Canada and Palestine.

So not true. A poll was done in Greenland and they would LOVE to be a part of the US. And Panama is in serious talks to come back to us. And more than a few Canadians would love to be part of the US.

Concerning today’s Deering, we need to be strong against the insanity of right-wing populis clown behavior, but not shrill. Shrill feeds losers like Sun, Molon Labe (he really needs to change his latest identity, everyone is laughing at it), et al. We’ll be ok.

Carmen continues – “But coyotes are a differnet story.”

Someone must have called DJT a coyote once and he replied he doesn’t have any which he’s been proving for a long, long time and is ratcheting things up several notches to prove it.

the first thing this Bondi woman did at the Justice Department was pass 3 new directives making it tougher to prosecute somebody for being “an agent of a foreign country”(see MElENDEZ).

Looks like the Trumpies have a big Brinks robbery in the works…..

Between the time Scott squatted down and produced this strip and the time it ran, residents of Greenland overwhelmingly approved of the idea of becoming part of the US in a survey, and Denmark has opened up Greenland to US presence; Panama just broke off its deals with China; and Canada caved, agreeing to everything Trump wanted. Oh, the challenges of putting empty political whining in the comics page! Another steaming pile of Scott Stantis for your perusal.

Gaza. I can’t get a firm number on the amount of land the Trump organization controls with their many golf courses, but it seems to be about 42 square miles. Gaza is tiny: about 140 square miles. I’m sure Trump is thinking to offer up his own properties as a place to resettle Palestinians.

The remainder? Well, Greenland is about 1/4 the size of the US and has only about 50,000 people, so there’s plenty of land, and employment in those potential lithium mines as the ice cap melts.

From the MAGA theater of the absurd today:

The CEO of Anheuser-Busch wants us to stop calling his beers “domestic”; instead call them “AMERICAN” beers. "[CEO Brandon] Whitworth admits that “domestic” is an accurate term, but says it gives him a negative and less patriotic feel than using the word “American.” [Fox12 Oregon, 2/5/25] Beers made by a conglomerate that is US/Belgian/Brazilian… Translation: “It also helps me stay on Dear Leader’s good side.”

[AG Pam Bondi put out a memo] that puts the DOJ at the center of President Donald Trump’s widespread efforts to destroy any traces of initiatives that would create inclusive and diverse workspaces, otherwise known as DEIA. The new memo claims that it will target private sector DEIA initiatives for potential “criminal investigation.” [SLATE, 2/6/25]What next? Does she plan to send police to businesses to arrest all the minorities, women and LGBTQ folk because they MUST have only been hired to fulfill DEI policies?

Despite the SCOTUS elimination of affirmative action, “Yale, Dartmouth, Northwestern, the University of Virginia, Wesleyan, Williams, and Bowdoin all ended up enrolling more Black or Latino students, or both. Princeton and Duke appear to have kept their demographics basically stable.” [The Atlantic, 2/3/25] Quick, call Pam Bondi to get those minority students removed – DEI!!! DEI!!!

For some unknown reason this morning, I thought of Superman.

Superman is probably the world’s most famous superhero. He’s endeared himself to fans and become an important part of the American culture. He’s classically “good,” choosing to help people, even though he could do or have anything he wants. He’s not influenced by money or corruption, and he intervenes only to right wrongs. Superman also maintains a strict code of conduct: no killing, no matter what. He puts the world’s needs ahead of his own, and he never lies.

    And then there’s Trump . . .

    (sigh)
