Oh, yes you can, just look at the list of recipients for the Nobel peace prize, one war criminal after another. Just consider ikiPedia “Nobel Peace Prize” subsection “Criticism of individual conferments”. The Nobel peace prize is mostly a joke.

Richard Nixon was apoplectic when Henry Kissinger received half of the Nobel Peace Prize (along with his Vietnamese counterpart) for ending the Vietnam war; Tricky Dick thought HE deserved it. Evidently the Nobel Committee didn’t explain to him that yes, he ended the Vietnam war — but only after expanding it into Cambodia.

Now there’s an idea, start a war just so you can win a peace prize for stopping it.
