When I was Hammie’s age I saw a farm truck with a cultivator (lots of individual plow shares) behind, stopped at an intersection. My buddy dared me to sit on the hitch part. So, what else could a young kid do? Fortunately, the truck went down the main street where my Dad worked and he heard my hollering and ran out to save me. Needless to say, I got a bit of a whopping, no, I got it all.

If this strip was set in Florida: “Hold my (root) beer and watch this!”

Ha! Want to know what a irresponsible kid looks like, Hammie? Just look in a mirror!

Who remembers hooky-bobbing? When there was snow on the street, you would grab on to a cars bumper and let it pull you down the street.

The ever present mom. Wait, then find a box of matches and some yarn and a few coat hangers and a mouse trap and several items from the kitchen cupboard. Lay it all out on your bedroom floor. Wait.

How many kids got hurt imitating Back to the Future? How many kids did some scriptwriter see do it before they “came up with a cool idea?”

I wish I was as quick on my feet as Hammie is.

The rope is going into the garbage truck? Ironic!

Disregarding the danger, even if it was possible, he might find it unsatisfying because garbage trucks move a few yards, stop while the garbagemen collect the trash, move a few yards, stop again, move a few yards, stop again…

There is something about it being a garbage truck that makes it a very Hammie idea.

Kirkman and Scott must have kids that give them plenty of ideas. LOL.
