I attended the Police reunion concert in 2008 at Jones Beach. A bus takes people between the train station and the beach. Concert goers packed the bus to get to the Amphitheatre and beach goers got on to return to the train station. When some young beach goers got on the bus, one teenage girl noticed the crowd and asked, “Who’s appearing?” Someone answered “The Police”. She then replied, “Why? Are they expecting trouble?”
When the Police came out record stores could not pinpoint where they would put the albums and they ended up in the punk Rock section, same with Blondie.
I saw the Police while in college at the University of Illinois. Joan Jett opened for them, and I thought she was much more entertaining than the Police were.
I was kind of funny to see this big overweight guy pushing away everyone standing near him while the Police sang “Don’t Stand So Close to Me”

He probably didn’t da-do-do-do it.

And he didn’t have a record, he had a cassette tape.

It was a Sting operation

So it was a police “Sting” operation — so funny how a reference to a 40 year old song now seems obscure.

Fortunately, “records” are making a comeback so any young people on here (lol) you know what they are talking about.

If the suspect was female you could say Roxanne got caught selling her body to the night.

I’ve always hated that song, Roxanne. He sounds awful.
