Not to belabor a point, but isn’t Ed still employed as a school bus driver? Wouldn’t this job need him to be at the garage by, say, 6:30 so that he can make sure the bus is ready, go out on his route, (ideally) pick up kids, and drop them off at the school by 8:30-9:00? And wouldn’t that require him to be first up in the house no later than 5:30? Why on Earth would Pmm be awake before him?

I am 82 years old. I cannot sleep flat on my back in a regular bed and if I do, I have a hard time sitting up to put my feet on the floor. Since I don’t have a hospital or adjustable bed, I sleep on an lift chare in the living room. I use the control to move the chair up enough to put my feet flat on the floor and then I use my cane to stand up.

My aides come on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I unlock the front door after I get dressed. But, one day, I got up, took my meds and then decided to go back to sleep in lift chair. I woke up because I had to go to the bathroom. Well, the electricity was off in the neighborhood. when I slid forward in the chair in an attempt to stand up, I went down to the floor, It took over half an hour to finally get up. If Kory the aide had worked that day, he would have found me in the floor.

Let’s see… Ed can’t get out of bed because of his bad back, but just a few weeks ago he was bowling. Inconsistency, thy name is Baituk…

I gave today’s strip a “like,” because after yesterday morning, that could have been me. Two straight days of heavy snow shoveling (a foot and a half total). Thank God and Heaven there are no major snowstorms forecast for the next 10 days.

So I’m killing time after my root canal by watching “The Amazing Transparent Man” on the MST3K forever stream, and as the camera pans across a pile of random junk Edgar Ulmer put in the mad scientist’s lab, one of the robots says, “Look! It’s Keesterman’s mailbox!”

Right up there with Marge Simpson noticing the Funky Winkerbean float in the Macy’s parade, methinks…
