We would remove the shelf pegs and balance the shelf on two tall books and then ask the Librarian for one of the books. She hated us.

As a former library assistant, I can tell you that a book out of place is functionally a book that the library doesn’t own. Please don’t reshelve the books you look at unless you are sure you are putting them in the right place. Better yet, let the page or library assistant do it.

We never had a pajama day, and if we ever did, I wouldn’t.

When I was 7, they had to change the school policy of only allowing students to check out two books at a time, I was reading them so quickly. They even had a little ceremony!

Snacks! Can we have radishes?

Folks, do every thing you can to support your public libraries and our public school libraries. They are under attack in so many different ways. Funding cuts is only the tip of the iceberg. Many consider our public libraries to be brain washing tools.

Many people still rely on our public libraries for information, relaxation, and education. For some it is just a place to go where they can feel safe.

Save our libraries!

Gasp! Amelia is worse than I thought.

It feels weird seeing Rose being a sourpuss and Amelia a Pollyanna. Pajama Day should also be dubbed as reverse role day.

I did something much worse. The last day of school my senior year in high school, I got into the library and shuffled several hands full of the cards in the card catalogue like playing cards and refiled them at random. In all likelihood, it wasn’t discovered until school began again in the fall. The Librarian was the bane of our existence, particularly when we had to do research for term papers.
