Sound is not the perception, but the vibration of air waves. The sound is there whether you hear it or not. Just like light is there outside even if you sit in the dark.

A question I have been know to ask myself “now and zen”.

Of course it makes a sound. I’ve never understood why anyone would think that is an actual legitimate question.

it goes way beyond trees and sound and more about " if this happens does it even matter" , or it could be in the same category as “why does a chicken cross the road”.
