I suppose they’re using oil/paraffin-based paint. Latex has no odor, but it chips easily.

Sometimes the color lightens up as it dries. The fuchsia looks pretty dark to me.

When growing up I only recall my parents having the interior of their house painted once, but mostly I remember it killing our parakeet (found dead the next morning)! I have long thought that my parents should have known better and have the parakeet stay somewhere else until the painting was complete. I have no idea why they didn’t. And that was back when we thought our parents knew everything!
