Yea! The weekly recap in glorious color plus the Crimestoppers Textbook (the vigilant policeman looks like a zombie)!
Tracy is still asking for paramedics and more backups. Mr. Pops has recovered and can stand. Is Ringo still handcuffed? Does Barb Els still have the rifle she used to kill Louise Trapeze. Will the paramedics and backups show up? Stay tuned for answers to these questions and more in the months ahead!
Amen to that! Whenever I see that my local police have pulled over a motorist, or are questioning somebody, I stop and offer to assist in the interrogation process.
I’m happy to see that the badges cops wear on their hats continue to morph wildly from one panel to the next.
“OK time to sort out the culprits…” Are we talking lazy-writing culprits who spend months slowly unraveling stories without actually saying much of anything about anything?

You’re a good citizen, Flight Suit. I’m sure the poilce welcome your assistance. They have their hands full watching the houses of vacationers, etc.
I think it is time for Tracy to hop in the Clown Car and return to headquarters. I fear though, that it will take all this coming week to conclude the story or they may strech it out until Thanksgiving when Tracy can work on his next “Turkey” of a case. Maybe the next story is about a serial killer and his victims are all Grade A Butterball turkeys.
Panel one looks awful. Panel 3. Who is ordering the cop to get help? Tracy or Enen? Final panel. Barb Ells is with all the suspects again. What about the flipping tiger? Has it been fed yet? Where’s Fee Fi? Where did Tracy get a gun?
I posted a comment very late yesterday, which I don’t think anybody’s seen. Here it is again:
To everybody constantly complaining about Dick Tracy’s passiveness, I have an alternative thought to consider:
Perhaps Tracy is a Zen detective, practicing a type of Aikido law enforcement, in which his mastery allows him to subtly direct the energies around him, thus foiling villains without appearing to take overt or injurious action?
Think about it. The bad guys always do wind up in custody or dead, so who are we, in our unenlightened lack of understanding, to judge the master’s methods?
It looked to me like Ennen called for backup there, Tracy was just standing there doing nothing in that frame. In the final frame—- First order of business is to arrest Dick Tracy for impersonating an officer and not doing a good job of it. Then go after DL for impersonating a cartoonist.
Last frame: Mr Pops can stand????? How does that happen after a fall like that one he took?
After having spent the last many weeks passively gawking at the events unfolding before his eyes, and making lame comments about them, Tracy now needs additional back-up to help him figure out what really happened.

Vista Bill - You should know that ANSWERS and LOGIC are two things that don’t exist in Naperville and Tracy-Land. There will be NO answers to any of your (or anybody else’s) questions.

LMAO - This is a good one! I think everyone should pull over and offer assistance. Especially when the situation looks a little dicey……
Starting tomorrow, without a shred of evidence against anyone save Mr.Pops, Tracy starts laying out blame all around, Who is Guilty of what and why. If it wasn’t so sad, it would be laughable but serves to confirm this as the WORST Dick Tracy story ever published in the in the strips 78 year history.
Dick Locher crafted it and TMS Editors allowed it ! They need to collectively stand in a corner and hang their heads in SHAME
I know this is a repeat, but hey, so is the strip.
Some say his father was a Virginia ham
And his mother was composed entirely of Spam
Though the comments were hurtful and cruel
He would show them all he was nobodies fool
One morning he heard the circus call his name
So he left the sty to go seek his fame
His happiness was expressed as grunts and squeals
When he found out he was getting a set of wheels
Oh how sharp, bitchin and wicked he looked
You could see right away he was no shnook
Yet fame was to be an elusive star
Even though he traveled near and far
Down on his luck and stifling a sob
He started working for a freaky mob
Sideshow gigs and dealing bleeep
Was this really where it was at
Then came that one fateful day
When Louise Trapeze they did slay
At first there was just a little mention
But soon he was the center of attention
There came calls for him to be a hero
Because Tracy was nothing but a big fat zero
A bright spot was he in the gathering gloom
A precious flower with a fragrant bloom
As the calls for him grew ever louder
His parents back home just couldn’t be prouder
The star of the circus the talk of the town
People pointed and waved when he rolled around
Glory was to be his in the days ahead
Tracy was forgotten and left for dead
Tracy has to sort things out now? Oh no! We’re going to have this whole story reviewed from the beginning? It’s gone on long enough! Let’s just wrap it up!
In the last panel the bridge of Tracy’s nose has a slight up swing, his eyes are shut and if his baloon were audible, I think I would hear the voice of Jim Bacchus!
Just one thing-I thought Tracy didn’t have a weapon on him? I thought the gun in the last panel was being held by the officer, who would be behind Tracy.
I like how the spotlight is on Mr. Pops when he’s in peril in the tiger cage. The show must go on!
