So, what does everyone think of Tracy’s Hall of Fame?

Hmmm. No antennas at least, so it seems that the current creative team is downplaying the alien angle. I approve. And Honeymoon is in a DVD store…Barney sighting ahead maybe? (Speculating only, I know that a couple of members have been upset by minor spoilers lately, and that’s a perfectly reasonable argument). Beautiful artwork as always, kudos to Joe and Shelley as always (and the gentleman on colors whose name escapes me at the moment, my apologies).Aaron

Oh, and I should note that unlike the GoComics colorist on the daily strips, Shane does a fantastic job. Honeymoon looks much better today than she did a couple of days ago, when the GoComics colorist went pretty liberal with the makeup. Sorry for the multiple posts everyone. Disorganized tonight. A sad last sighting of the grey, stiff corpse of Emma “Ponytail” Parks, offset by a fresh sighting of perky “Moon Unit One” Honeymoon! —Plus a timely reminder in panel 6 to runaways.

I am not very familiar with the history of Dick Tracy. Is the Moon Unit a person, a thing or a part of the Moon Maid character of the 70s.

To answer Sam’s question, it’s the double up thing with Doubleup. Two dead Ponytails on the set.

One question, is Honny Moon Junior"s little girl.

That must be Honeymoon Jr.’s little girl with late wife Moon Maid. Jr. later married Sparkle Plenty and had a child of their own Sparkle Jr.

The Sunday Page is, as always now, a true pleasure to look at, but kudos to Mike Curtis for tying up a loose detail at the bus station with a very timely message. Nice job one and all.

Anyone seen Bassmanbob?

About spoilers: Some of us enjoy them. A clearly stated “Spoiler Alert” can stop the folks that don’t from reading them, but please don’t stop those tantalizing clues just because a few folks don’t like them.

It’s a SIG-Sauer P226, in either 9mm or .40 cal. It could be conceivably be a P220, which, from a distance, looks virtually identical. But I recommended the P226, which is more common in the Chicago Police, since it has a greater magazine capacity. The P226 is double-stacked. The P220 is, like the Colt 1911, single-stacked, and consequently, can’t hold as many rounds.

At least Dick wins the consolation prize today. And the partial view of Emma Parks’s body is an unsettling reminder that whatever else Doubleup is, he’s a vicious SOB. Nice touch with the heart-shaped M on the t-shirt.

The Hall of Fame is a great idea. I am thrilled by the renewal of Dick Tracy. I sure hope that comics like Tracy can survive the modern world and it’s loss of daily newspapers. I don’t want to see the new Tracy go the way of Lil’ Orphan Annie. Any word about them bringing her back?

I have to say since the overhaul of this comic, those have got to be the dumbest criminals ever to get busted by Dick Tracy! No time to dump the body?! And his accomplice got “bus”-ted at the station before he got away! Haven’t he ever heard of something called a “disguise”?!

and suggested that, among the American pop culture figures, the guy on the far left might be Dick Tracy.

Kind of hard to imagine Dick Tracy on the Far Left, though.

Interestingly, given ol’ Scut’s obsession with the Justin Volpe case, Volpe’s father, NYPD Detective Robert Volpe, was at one time the only American police officer assigned full-time to art theft, and was internationally famous for his investigative work.

During his tenure as TRACY’s scriptwriter, Al Collins read a 1974 biography of Volpe senior, ART COP by Laurie Adams, and used him as the model for Detective Johnny Adonis, an art theft specialist who so impressed Tracy during the Art Dekko case that he was later transferred out of Burglary to the Major Crimes Unit.

I almost missed her crescent-moon earrings. Sweet!

How did they even know to look at the bus station for an accomplice? Who could have heard their conversation. He was going to the bus station to pick up another girl to be their stand-in for Ponytail, though I really can’t remember what the purpose was of this whole set-up.

One person that we don’t see getting apprehended is the guy Doubleup had “fixing” the books for his extortion racket. I am guessing he is making every effort to get out of town about now.

Look what I found! Oh, it is for people on their honeymoon. Never mind.

@Tarry Plaguer:Please bring me up to speed – who is Mr. Dhatkham? Is the name a play on “dot com” somehow? Is this a character from a past story ? I am not too familiar with the more recent DT history, because the strip is not carried in any of my hometown papers, and I only recently discovered this web site. Thanks. Your comments are always helpful in understanding what’s going on.

Good to see Honeymoon grown up. Last time we saw her was a a baby before MoonMaid was killed in a explosion.

So Charlie Chan is based on a true person. I never could understand why some Chinese found him offensive. He solves crimes, he catches crooks, he quots words of wisdom. Mr. Chan gives them the best image they could ask for!

Is Diet smith still a character in the strip?
