Screwball and Cueball will be doing long stretches, and neither one seems to be the “Electronic Genius” type. I wouldn’t worry too much about them (as long as Sam stays sharp and keeps them on ice until the uniforms arrive to clean up). Good to see Honeymoon looking alert and none the worse for wear, too. It’s B-B Eyes that could be a problem if he gets away. Where is Tracy right now?
I don’t think Sam is giving away much here. RDF has been around for decades. Beside, cops generally know where they are, so it won’t strike much fear into a felon when he realizes “The rest of the department can triangulate his location!”
Triangulation, though, requires at least two bearings from different reception points. It’s a bit time-consuming when you take the readings and do the math. Having the wrist gizmo download a GPS reading would be faster and more reliable (yes, commercially available GPS isn’t always accurate. Presumably Diet Smith used something closer to military specs.)
Even with GPS being a bit off (I use one and sometimes it’s beyond pathetic) in this story there’s three warehouses to choose from. Assuming they’re not next door to each other, maybe GPS “close enough” is all Sam needs, he can figure out the rest.
Maybe Honeymoon drop her wrist wizard in the back of the truck, or DT was still in the truck. By the way, what is that cloud or fume coming out from the back of the truck?
So, Diet Smith didn’t drop the ball.Sam, shhh!Did Diet Smith paint the squad with magic camo paint?Although I’m glad to see the GoComics colorist put down the brown crayon.I agree Tracy’s in the back, or Sam wouldn’t be so nonchalant.
If the strip gets too slow for anyone, try “owling” on a fence or rail and it’ll rejuvenate you to where you wanna get back into the action! It really works!
Cut Sam some slack – after being on the receiving end of Diet Smith’s super-high-tech Thor’s Hammer, Sam wants to brag a bit about his new high-tech wonder.Besides, those two pinheads aren’t exactly about to re-invent the wheel (not where they’re going).
@Doc 1947GThat smoke coming from the open truck doors is probably the exhaust fumes Screwball and Cueball were filling the truck with. And I’m betting BB Eyes is going to be overcome by the fumes!
Honeymoon has probably logged onto the “Eye in the Sky” setting on her Wrist Wizard and is following BB Eyes from orbit. “Hey Unca Catchem, what does Fire ICBM mean?”
Doc 1947G It’s already been established that the van is in poor shape and smokes badly, Since the hose is still connected to the exhaust system and vented into the interior, smoke is pouring out the rear doors,If BB drives fast enough, long enough, the Bernoulli effect will fill the van with toxic fumes, and BB will die in the way he intended for Honeymoon.
I was afraid BB Eyes was going to ty to run them over. It looks like a window in the police car is cracked. The door of the van is open and it looks like boxes are flying out so I don’t feel sure about Tracy being in there.
I state again, a cargo van is just about the worst possible get-away vehicle. Heavy, slow and not very maneuverable, now we can add poor maintenance as seen by the heavy smoke. A rough-running engine just won’t allow for out-running the cops, or even running very long if the engine is stressed much.

So the answer to the mystery of “Which of three warehouses do we raid?” is “Sam, RTFM!”

Even if the signal is jammed, you can triangulate on the signal that is being used to jam it. It’s nice and strong, by definition.

Great last panel ! From Sam’s expression, to the classic " Gould shortened arm ".
But, if i’m honest, this story arc has been my least favorite since 3/14…despite th return of Honeymoon Tracy and the new wrist wizard.
