I like that metaphor!

The dog hides in the tub, one cat under the bed, the other cat sharpened his claws on my thigh.

My cat, yeah that’s her in my avatar, sits on the back stoop during thunderstorms and doesn’t run from the vacuum. She does give it dirty looks, however…

doesn’t bother the cat, she’s deaf…

I have an early warning cat. 5 minutes before any thunder his ears pop-up and he hides under anything nearby.

Poor Principal Spaetzel! I also know that unfortunate feeling. I like that he keeps a good attitude about the whole thing, however…. and still likes thunderstorms even.

three cats, three different claw marks, three different hiding places. Now I understand the term scaredy cat.

Interesting timing, that this strip should appear just after the weekend’s tussles with Irene.

@PipeTobacco: I agree. Fortunately, neither cat or the dog minds thunder and lightning. Hard to enjoy a good storm properly when one’s friends are miserable.

Funny the timing on this. Irene just swept through here last night. I’m on-line at Starbucks and SO grateful I will not be able to give them even a friendly jibe for a long time.

My older cat is a refugee from Hurricane Rita (Katrina’s forgotten and stronger sister) from Texas. She is so afraid of the sound of the wind, she won’t stay in the same room when I have a fan going.

I didn’t even know Mr. Spaetzle was Jewish!

I like that Dr. Spaetzle has a cat.
